Job Description: Responsible for the teaching of assigned courses at assigned times and sites as well as the other duties and responsibilities inherent in this position. Reports to the Chairperson of the School of Language Arts at the Harrison County Campus.
Job Duties
(M1) Associate of Applied Science Degree in Interpreter Training Technology from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
(M2) At least 24 months of work experience providing interpreter services in a professional setting using ASL.
(M3) Proficient ASL and spoken English language skills.
(M4) Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing technologies.
(M5) Registered or eligible to register in the State of Mississippi with the Office on Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
(M6) VRS interpreting experience.
(M7) Interpreter certification from a state or nationally recognized provider.
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Experience conducting quality assurance reviews of interpreters.
(D2) Bachelor's degree in interpreting or a closely related degree.
(D3) Experience working in a multimodal environment. (e.g., in-person, online, and/or virtual).
(D4) Experience Interpreting across educational, medical, legal, and community settings.
(D5) Experience with generative AI.

Job Duties
- Teach assigned subject matter with professionalism and uphold college values.
- Meet classes according to the schedule.
- Attend faculty/departmental meetings as requested.
- Follow exam schedules unless otherwise approved.
- Provide access to students for advising, conferences, and tutorial help.
- Advise students as needed.
- Maintain accurate student records and submit reports timely.
- Use instructional support services (e.g., Learning Resources Centers).
- Conduct course evaluations per college procedures.
- Ensure instructional consistency with college and departmental standards.
- Contribute to college goals, course objectives, and student achievement.
- Act as a public representative for the community college.
- Supervise or participate in extracurricular activities as assigned.
- Evaluate student progress adequately.
- Participate in college governance councils as assigned.
- Serve on academic/instructional committees as assigned.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the department or administration.
- Promoting and recruiting for the interpreter technology program.
