Summary

Performs various duties in either department (Electric OR Water & Sewer).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists in the maintenance of right-of-way for properties to include mowing/bush hogging of grass and spraying of poison on weeds and other growth detrimental to the operating efficiency of the utility service applicable.
  • Replace/Change filters in traffic control boxes.
  • Check/Repair heaters in water pumping stations (in winter).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience

High school student (at least 16 years of age) or high school diploma or acceptable equivalent (i.e. GED).

Language Skills

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply principles of logical thinking or scientific thinking in routine and non-routine functions of operation, maintenance and construction.

Certifications, Licenses And Registrations

Valid driver's license for the State of Mississippi.

Must have physical strength and agility to perform manual labor for extended periods of time.
