The **Shipping Clerk** is responsible for managing the movement of goods from the warehouse to customers or other destinations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. The role involves coordinating shipments, preparing shipping documentation, monitoring inventory levels, and working closely with other departments to meet customer demands and company objectives. The **Shipping Clerk** also ensures compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies. This position will be located at the Waynesboro, MS, Facility.

Responsibilities

Coordinate Shipments: Schedule and coordinate shipments to ensure timely delivery of products to customers or distributors. This includes selecting appropriate carriers, arranging freight, and managing delivery schedules.

Prepare Shipping Documentation: Generate and verify all necessary shipping paperwork, including bills of lading, shipping labels, packing slips, and export documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Inventory Management: Work closely with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure products are correctly picked, packed, and shipped, maintaining accurate inventory records.

Carrier Communication: Communicate with freight carriers and logistics providers to track shipments, resolve delivery issues, and confirm pickup and delivery times.

Monitor Shipment Status: Track shipments from origin to destination, providing customers or internal departments with real-time updates and addressing any delays or discrepancies.

Customer Communication: Act as a liaison between the company and customers to provide shipping updates, resolve shipping-related issues, and address any concerns regarding delivery times, damages, or returns.

Maintain Compliance: Ensure that all shipping activities comply with regulatory requirements, such as customs regulations, hazardous materials handling, and international shipping laws.

Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as sales, customer service, and inventory management to ensure smooth order fulfillment and resolve any issues related to product availability or shipping.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, reduce delays, and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred.

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination. Experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment is a plus.

Technical Skills: Proficient in shipping and logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, UPS/FedEx tools) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when handling shipping paperwork, inventory, and shipment tracking.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with carriers, customers, and internal teams.

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve shipping issues, including delays, incorrect shipments, or inventory discrepancies.

Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation with the ability to manage customer expectations and resolve issues professionally.

Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams.

Knowledge of Shipping Regulations: Understanding of domestic and international shipping regulations, including custom and import/export procedures, is an advantage.
