What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mentor Coach position at Mississippi Department of Employment Security?
Position Summary: The mentor coach is responsible for providing coaching, guided reflections, training, and support to Head Start/Early Head Start classroom staff on best practices related to early learning, school readiness, teacher-interaction and supporting emotional development. The mentor coach also coordinates and facilitates group-based professional development for teachers to work collaboratively to share reflections, example practice, solve application challenges, manage conflict, and promote continuous learning and improvement in professional practice and child outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Educaton, Child Development or Elementary with an emphasis in early childhood.
- Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in a preschoold classroom.
- Knowledgeable of Early Childhood Education and Developmentally Best Practices and innovate approaches to classroom management.
- Must have CLASS certification and maintain it throughout employment.
