What are the responsibilities and job description for the CHILD CARE PROVIDER position at MISSISSIPPI ACTION FOR PROGRESS INC?
- Responsible for no more than four (4) infants/toddlers at a given time; however, this may require the supervision of children not directly assigned to the Child Care Provider.
- Supervise volunteer workers in the classroom.
- Inform Center Administrator or Assistant Center Administrator of staffing needs and changes immediately.
- Provide constant and continuous supervision of children by sight and hearing daily during all activities both indoor and outdoor, including sleeping/toileting areas.
- Organize and setup learning centers within demonstration classroom at the beginning of each school year. Infant environments should be adjusted as children grow and develop into toddlers.
- Screen and assess each assigned child according to prescribed schedule using agency-defined assessment instrument within the first forty-five (45) calendar days of enrollment.
- Maintain up-to-date record-keeping system in accordance with Record Keeping and Reporting Management System. Manually record results, and give to Clerk for entry into Child Plus Tracking System according to prescribed schedule.
- A minimum educational requirement of Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a
related area that includes a minimum of six (6) classes focusing on infant/toddler development.
- Two years experience in preschool classroom with ability to adapt curriculum to meet the needs of all children
including at-risk, special needs, gifted, and culturally diverse populations.
- Oral and written communication skills which facilitate and support positive feedback from parents and between staff at all operational levels. Ability to relate to clients from diverse populations.
