The Director of IT will lead the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, and team to enable scalable growth and align systems with evolving business needs. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing enterprise IT operations, strengthening cybersecurity, supporting digital transformation, and ensuring regulatory compliance across both clinical service delivery and medical device support environments. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset and deep technical expertise, with a proven ability to drive innovation and operational efficiency in a fast-paced, regulated setting.
Responsibilities:
The Director of IT will lead the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, and team to enable scalable growth and align systems with evolving business needs. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing enterprise IT operations, strengthening cybersecurity, supporting digital transformation, and ensuring regulatory compliance across both clinical service delivery and medical device support environments. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute IT strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, FDA, etc.).
- Oversee IT systems and infrastructure including EHR platforms, clinic technologies, medical device software, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing IT team focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and data protection practices are robust and up to date.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, finance, R&D, and data analytics teams to support cross-functional technology needs.
- Manage IT vendors, contracts, and department budget efficiently.
- Drive digital initiatives including automation, AI adoption, cloud transformation, and data analytics to improve scalability and productivity.
- Support the development and deployment of proprietary systems used in patient care and device integration.
- Lead incident response and IT disaster recovery planning, along with risk and compliance oversight.
- Develop IT SOPs and manage project prioritization, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and other applicable standards.
- Perform other duties as needed or required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10 years of progressive IT experience, including 5 years in IT leadership.
- Experience in healthcare IT, medical devices, or similarly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, SOC 2, FDA, and SEC compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to scale IT systems across multi-site or multi-state operations.
- Strong background in system integration and infrastructure development.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Defender (required); experience with AdvancedMD EMR, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce.com, PowerBI, and NetSuite (preferred).
- Demonstrated success implementing AI tools or automation to enhance efficiency.
- Exceptional leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to align technology solutions with business strategy in high-growth environments.
