Job Title:

Director, Cybersecurity, North America & Global SOC Leader

Overview:

Join a fast-growing, global specialty pharmaceutical company as a visionary Cybersecurity leader overseeing North America and spearheading our worldwide Security Operations Center (SOC). This high-impact role combines strategic leadership with hands-on expertise, empowering you to protect critical intellectual property, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold patient trust. As a key executive, you will lead regional cybersecurity initiatives, foster a unified cyber defense posture, and collaborate across borders to stay ahead of emerging threats—all while evolving a security-first culture in a highly regulated environment.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 12 years’ progressive cybersecurity experience, including 5 years in senior leadership roles
• Strong background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or highly regulated industries
• Certified CISSP and CISM required
• Expertise in Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, SOC leadership, and detection engineering
• Extensive knowledge of Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, GCP), IAM, Zero Trust architectures
• Deep understanding of GRC frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and regulations including HIPAA, GxP, and 21 CFR Part 11
• Proven ability to lead teams, influence senior executives, and manage global security programs
• Experience in OT/ICS security in manufacturing or laboratory environments
• Effective cross-functional collaborator with legal, compliance, and operations teams
  
  

Nice to Have Skills:

• Additional certifications such as CRISC, CISA, CCSK/CCSP, GICSP
• Experience with threat hunting, automation, and advanced analytics
• Familiarity with vendor management and managed security services
• Fluency in Japanese or experience working with Japanese counterparts
  
  

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or relevant field
• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred
• Prior experience in life sciences, biotech, or pharma sectors
• 10% international travel, including visits to Japan
  
  

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work in a hybrid environment (twice weekly in-office in Princeton, NJ)
• Willingness to work after hours occasionally to support Japan hours and global incident response
• Up to 10% domestic and international travel
