Missions Thrift Store exists to serve Jesus, support missions, and make a positive spiritual and financial impact locally and nationally by collecting and selling primarily used goods.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager to join our team. The Assistant Manager will support the Store Manager in daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, creating a positive work culture, managing staff and volunteers, and driving sales.
Duties:
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing store operations
- Train, supervise, and motivate staff and volunteers to achieve sales targets
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer issues
- Manage inventory levels and merchandise displays
- Conduct interviews and participate in hiring processes
- Assist in creating work schedules and assigning tasks to team members
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to optimize profitability
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
-Willing to participate in all areas of store operations including: cashiering, merchandising, pricing, donations intake, stocking, training, opening and closing of store, and other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Strong mathematical skills for handling cash transactions and managing budgets
- Proficient in interviewing techniques for selecting qualified candidates
- Sales experience to drive revenue growth and meet targets
- Ability to effectively manage and supervise a team of employees and volunteers
- Knowledge of store management practices to ensure smooth operations
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries and internal communications
- Experience as a clerk or similar role within a retail environment
- Team management skills to foster a collaborative work environment
- Understanding of market trends to make informed business decisions
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Has a working knowledge of Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Forms and has basic computer skills
