We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to manage and optimize critical database systems supporting federal government contracts. This full-time, hybrid position offers the opportunity to design, develop, and administer secure database solutions for the Department of Defense, ensuring high performance and compliance in a mission-critical environment. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and administer database systems, focusing on Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server, to meet organizational and mission requirements.
- Implement database standards and industry best practices to ensure data integrity, security, and performance.
- Perform database maintenance, including backups, recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support application functionality.
- Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA) and maintain secure database operations.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate databases with applications and resolve technical issues.
Document database designs, configurations, and processes for audits and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in IT roles, with expertise in:
- Database administration, design, and development.
- Working with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Applying database standards and industry methodologies.
- Active Secret clearance with Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (IT-I level) required and must be maintained throughout employment.
Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (CWF) certification required: IAT III (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or equivalent).
