JOB TITLE: Swim School Instructor

REPORTS TO: Deck Supervisor

SUMMARY: We are looking for enthusiastic instructors to works with children of all ages to develop proper swimming technique and skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teaches swimming strokes and water safety rules from beginner to advanced with the ability to assess progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Identifies incorrect swimming technique and provides corrective feedback
• Exhibit patience and enthusiasm with swimmers while providing ground rules for class
• Motivate students to accomplish goals of class
• Communicate effectively with students to ensure all water safety rules are adhered to
• Monitors students to prevent accidents and injuries
• Works with team to keep deck and pool clean
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Prior swim lessons/swimming experience preferred, but not required
• Passion for working with children of all ages
• CPR/water safety training certified preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Continually required to stand, walk, talk and hear
• Continually exposure to outside weather and wet conditions
• Continually exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Additional remarks regarding work environment: In outdoor, 90 degree heated pool

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

• Swimming: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
