We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Data Engineer will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver reliable and high-quality data solutions that enable strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes using open-source tools to facilitate seamless data integration from various sources including Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, SharePoint along with RESTful API integrations with SaaS solutions.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to support large-scale data processing and analytics.
- Design, build and optimize a data virtualization architecture
- Develop and manage data models, schemas, and database designs for data warehouses using SQL.
- Implement best practices for data quality, security, and governance across all platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions aligned with Agile methodologies.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues promptly, and perform capacity planning for future growth.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in big data analytics, and cloud computing (AWS/Azure) to continuously improve infrastructure efficiency.
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, PySpark) and Apache tool suite.
- Hands-on experience with ETL frameworks (Airflow, Luigi, Prefect, or similar).
- Ability to apply statistical methods in R for data validation and analysis.
- Proficiency in Postgres and at least one of the following: SQL Server or Oracle databases.
- Familiarity with AWS (Glue, Redshift, S3) or Azure data services.
- Understanding of RESTful API integrations.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets effectively.
- Strong understanding of database design principles combined with experience in analysis skills to optimize data architecture solutions.
- Knowledge of Agile development practices to facilitate collaborative project execution.
