OverviewMission Sciences is building a new model for how demand is generated, structured, and converted into mission outcomes.
We are hiring a Head of Demand to own the full lifecycle of opportunity creation and conversion across General Wisdom. This is not a traditional sales or marketing role. It is a system-level role responsible for transforming fragmented customer need into structured demand, executable pathways, and closed transactions.
You will build and operate the Demand Engine.
The MissionConvert signals into structured, closed demand across four phases:
- Discovery – Define real customer requirements
- Matching – Align needs to products, capabilities, or solutions
- Pathway – Select or create the optimal acquisition path
- Close – Convert to revenue through Mission Credits
You own performance across all four phases, optimizing for speed, conversion, and clarity.
Core ResponsibilitiesDemand Creation & Capture- Build and manage demand channels:
- Direct customer engagement
- Strategic accounts (DoD, IC, Federal, Allied)
- Partner ecosystem
- Identify high-value opportunities early
- Convert ambiguous signals into structured demand
- Lead deep discovery engagements with customers
- Translate requirements into:
- Mission kits / SKUs
- General Wisdom capabilities
- Custom or emerging solutions
- Rapidly assess feasibility, urgency, and value
- Select or create optimal pathways:
- Purchase card (P-Card)
- Contract vehicles
- Rapid acquisition mechanisms
- Custom deal structures
- Remove friction from the buying process
- Standardize repeatable pathways
- Own the full Demand Digest pipeline
- Track all opportunities across:
- Discovery
- Matching
- Pathway
- Close
- Drive:
- Conversion rates
- Time-to-close
- Deal velocity
- Build reporting, dashboards, and operating cadence
- Use AI to:
- Analyze pipeline health and conversion trends
- Generate opportunity briefs and summaries
- Accelerate pathway and proposal creation
- Identify hidden demand signals across data
- Integrate AI into the Demand Digest system
- Continuously improve throughput via automation
High proficiency in at least one:
- Claude
- ChatGPT

Preferred experience with at least one:
- Claude Code
- Perplexity Computer
- Hermes
- Windsurf
- Cursor
You should be able to:
- Synthesize fragmented information into structured opportunities
- Build AI-assisted workflows for pipeline management
- Use AI to increase deal velocity and win probability
- 7–15 years in:
- Business development, growth, or sales leadership
- Defense, national security, or federal markets preferred
- Proven track record of:
- Closing complex deals
- Navigating government acquisition pathways
- Scaling and managing pipelines
- Strong understanding of:
- Federal procurement and acquisition strategies
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and impose structure
- Opportunities move from concept to close in weeks, not months
- Full visibility into the demand funnel at all times
