Description
The Pool Attendant is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming pool environment for residents and guests at our apartment community. This role plays a key part in upholding the community’s standards for quality, hospitality, and resident satisfaction.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Greet residents and guests warmly and ensure adherence to pool rules and safety guidelines
- Monitor pool and surrounding areas for cleanliness, hazards, or unsafe behavior
- Maintain proper pool area appearance by tidying furniture, emptying trash, and restocking supplies as needed
- Regularly check restrooms, showers, and locker areas for cleanliness and report maintenance needs
- Monitor pool access, verify resident credentials, and ensure guest policies are followed
- Check and report pool chemical levels to maintenance (if trained) or notify maintenance team for testing
- Communicate concerns or incidents to the Property Manager or designated contact promptly
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents and represent the community in a professional manner
- Enforce community policies with fairness and respect, escalating as necessary
- Responsible for closing the pool, including locking up at closing time, and ensuring all residents and guests have left the pool area

- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be able to walk, stand, and move pool furniture as needed
- May require light lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Must be at least 16 years of age (or per local/state law)
- Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, fax machine, printer, and copier
- Comprehension of federal fair housing laws and any applicable local housing provisions
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people
- Flexibility to adjust schedule based on weather or community needs
- Ability to stay alert and observant for long periods of time
- Comfortable interacting with residents and addressing concerns with professionalism
- Ability to learn basic computer applications
- Ability to multi-task, make quick and effective decisions, and analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to maintain flexibility and creativity in a variety of situations
- Ability to drive a motorized vehicle
- High School diploma or equivalent
- CPR/First Aid or lifeguard certification is a plus, but not required (depending on state/local laws and pool monitoring needs)
