Pay Range: $25.00-$31.00
Supervises: Level 1 Lift Mechanics
Status: Year Round (11-Months) or Seasonal, Full-Time

LIFT MECHANIC LEVEL 2 JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintenance of all chair lifts and rope tows, record-keeping, troubleshooting and supervision of lift operations, creating a comfortable atmosphere for guests, and maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Perform all Lift Maintenance responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. The Level 2 Lift Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe operation of all chair lifts and rope tows. This mid-level role requires a demonstrated proficiency in mechanical systems, rigging, and specialized lift components.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:

Responsible for the proper opening and closing of chair lifts, including all pre-operational inspections.

Responsible for the safe operation of chair lifts, including the completion of periodic daily inspections.

Respond to lift emergencies, according to the lift malfunction or disabled lift communication procedure.

Safely operate snowmobiles in accordance to the Mission Ridge snowmobile operations guidelines.

Responsible for the safety of all guests and employees while loading, riding, and unloading chair lifts.

Maintain ramps, signs, mazes and lift stations in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.

Maintain and fully complete all lift maintenance drive and detach terminal work logs.

Maintain clean and orderly work stations, using special attention for the sheave shop and motor rooms.

Monitor weather and mechanical conditions that may affect the operation of the chair lifts.

Participate in required Lift Maintenance training sessions. Ask questions with unfamiliar tasks.

Work with other departments in a cooperative and supportive role.

Assist in the Supervision of lift operators as needed.

Supervise the thorough completion of all lift operations daily lift work logs.

Assist in training of Lift Operators. Assist lift operations with any and all duties.

2 years of experience working on fixed-grip and detachable chairlifts, rope tows, and conveyors

Can read electrical schematics

Can perform periodic maintenance tasks with little or no oversight

Competent and experienced in work at height

Can perform grip, tower, and terminal maintenance with direction

Can perform brake testing and adjusting

Can perform tension system inspections

Can perform basic electrical troubleshooting

Is familiar with ANSI B77.1 and its requirements
SKILLS PREFERRED:

Level II NDT

Can perform drive, hydraulic system, and low voltage controls troubleshooting

Can lead rope evacuation teams

Can splice fiber rope for rope tows

Can oversee annual inspection preparation

Has experience with gearbox and bullwheel rebuilds

Has experience with haul rope replacement and splicing

Can perform alignment of drive system components
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent combination of education/experience preferred

Possess mechanical aptitude

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, low and high voltage equipment in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to the risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and is frequently exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment can be very loud according to the job task and location. Employees are required to work in an environment requiring varying heights.
