Mission Pet Health is hiring a Lead Veterinary Technician Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team. This is a remote opportunity, however, candidates should live in Eastern or Central Time zones and be flexible to travel in the Northeast and Midwest regions as needed.
The Lead Veterinary Technician Recruiter is responsible for leading and developing a team of recruiters while driving full-cycle recruitment strategies to attract top talent for veterinary technician and veterinary assistant roles. This role will be responsible for elevating the level of recruiting service provided to our hospital teams through demonstration of best practices related to candidate experience, collaboration with hiring teams, and sourcing. The Lead Veterinary Technician Recruiter will also serve as the liaison to the vet tech campus and extern team to ensure alignment on goals and a more structured approach to the candidate experience and hand off between teams. This role will also serve as an advisor for the vet tech recruiting team to improve our talent attraction and recruiting efforts.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for recruiting veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants in assigned territory through applicant management in ATS, talent attraction, and sourcing efforts through CRM and other avenues.
- Partner with Senior Manager of Vet Tech Recruiting to provide education and training to hiring teams, providing best practices and guides to improve candidate experience.
- Partner with Senior Manager of Vet Tech Recruiting to improve ATS workflow and find ways to improve data integrity and reporting.
- Partner with Vet Tech Campus and Extern team to ensure alignment on goals and priorities, ensuring timely touchpoints and handoff for every candidate that enters the pipeline to increase hires coming from this sourcing arm.
PEOPLE AND TEAM LEADER
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of recruiters to achieve hiring goals, career development planning, and provide strategic insights for hard to fill areas
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture
- Responsible for researching and recommending adjustments to recruiter workflow to gain efficiencies and improve metrics
- Provide mentorship of VT recruiting team by demonstrating best practices throughout the recruiting lifecycle to include, but not limited to kick off calls, writing effective job ads, advising hiring teams, capturing accurate metrics, and closing candidates
- Consistently follows established procedures and maintains high quality standards
- Proactively catches errors and maintains rigorous data accuracy standards
- Effectively prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines and service level expectations
- Creates clear, comprehensive documentation that others can easily follow
- Identifies opportunities to automate manual tasks and streamline workflows
- Ensures bonuses and incentive payments are calculated correctly and submitted on time
- Uses organizational resources efficiently and identifies cost-saving opportunities
- Adheres to budget and travel guidelines acting as a responsible steward of Mission Pet Health
- Builds positive working relationships with recruiting teams, Systems team, payroll, and other HR functions
- Provides timely updates and responses to stakeholder requests

- Proven ability to adapt to organizational and/or industry changes related to recruiting process and best practices. Skilled in working with various applicant tracking systems, reporting platforms, and job boards.
- Ability to mentor and lead more junior level recruiters.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, HR or other related field.
- Minimum five years of full lifecycle recruiting experience.
- Previous recruiting experience in Veterinary Medicine or Healthcare is preferred.
- Previous experience working in Avature is preferred.
