Mission Pet Health is actively recruiting Texas A&M veterinary students for our paid student programs. With hospitals across 42 states - and a major footprint right here in Texas - we offer you the flexibility to work near campus, back home during breaks, or travel somewhere new. Our program has no application deadlines and flexibility to meet your schedule.
PROGRAM 1: Student Jobs & Clinical Externships (Nationwide)
Eligibility: 1st – 4th Year Students
Duration: 2 – 4 Weeks
Work in active clinical environments under the careful guidance of our most experienced DVMs. This is more than shadowing; it is about building your confidence and medical toolkit.
- Scrub-in & Assist: Gain real surgical exposure assisting with procedures.
- Hands-On: Perform essential clinical tasks under expert supervision.
- Variety: Opportunities available in both General Practice and Specialty/Emergency settings.
PROGRAM 2: Dental Externship
Eligibility: 3rd & 4th Year Students
Duration: 2 Weeks
Take a deep dive into veterinary dentistry. From understanding the fundamentals to shadowing complex procedures, this program provides working knowledge of the many facets of dentistry within veterinary medicine.
- Curriculum: Dentistry Basics, Specialized Imaging, Dental Specialty Operations, and Dental Procedures.
- Expert Mentorship: Learn directly from a Board-Certified Dentist.
- Training Centers: Please note this program takes place at our state-of-the-art dental surgery training centers in Durham, NC, Flower Mound, TX, or Baton Rouge, LA.

Mission sets aside $5K for each academic year you complete within our DVM Student Programs. If you join a Mission hospital after graduation, you will be rewarded a bonus equal to the amount that's been set aside for you - up to $20K!
