Acquisitions Intern - Mission Pet Health

Mission Pet Health is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Acquisitions Intern to join our growing M&A team. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to dive in, take ownership, and contribute meaningfully to a fast-paced deal environment.

As an intern, you will be a key partner to our Business Development, Acquisitions, and Operations teams—supporting the full lifecycle of hospital acquisitions. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to live deals while also helping improve how we work by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, introduce automation, and thoughtfully incorporate AI into our workflows.

This is not a passive internship—we are looking for someone who is just as willing to tackle foundational, detail-heavy work as they are to step back, identify gaps, and help us work smarter.

Responsibilities

Deal Execution & Support

• Partner closely with Acquisition Managers (AMs) to support deals from start to finish
• Assist with financial and legal diligence processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Set up and manage deal tools (Google Sheets, SharePoint/One Drive, Microsoft, Excel, Dropbox, Monday.com, Salesforce)
• Join seller kickoff calls to gain exposure and build confidence interacting with clients
• Help train sellers on systems and streamline data collection through remote tools
• Monitor timelines and proactively help keep deals moving forward
  
  

Data Ownership & Process Consistency

• Own and maintain core deal tracking templates
• Ensure consistency across deals and identify areas for standardization
• Act as an information bridge across teams (Business Development → Acquisitions → Integration → Operations)
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work daily with internal teams including Contracts, HR, Finance, Operations, and Business Intelligence
• Support onboarding of newly acquired hospital teams, including coordinating meetings and materials
• Assist with data pulls and reporting (Power BI experience a plus)
• Coordinate with external partners for items like property inspections
  
  

Client Experience (Seller-Focused)

• Help deliver a high-touch, “white glove” experience for sellers
• Support communication, scheduling, and milestone celebrations (LOI signing, closing, etc.)
  
  

Process Improvement, Automation & AI

• Continuously look for ways to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
• Identify gaps in current workflows and take initiative to propose solutions
• Support projects focused on automation, AI integration, and internal system enhancements (including CRM development)
• Take ownership of special projects that improve team effectiveness and seller satisfaction
• Researching/testing AI integration tools and automation platforms to improve efficiency
