What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Supervisor 7 AM-3 PM Monday-Friday position at Mission of Hope Homeless Shelter?
The Mission of Hope (MOH) Shift Supervisor organizes and oversees the daily operations of a homeless shelter during an 8-hour period and assists residents in moving from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Works under the direction of the Executive Director of the Mission of Hope. "Job descriptions may be modified based on MISSION OF HOPE needs and employees may be required to perform functions beyond those described below and employees are "at will employees" in that either party may terminate the employment relationship." MUST be able to pass drug screen, including marijuana.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Maintains knowledge of Mission of Hope policies and procedures.
· Maintains the safety of shelter residents and staff.
· Completes program intakes on all new and returning clients.
· Develops a variety of means of communicating the shelter’s expectations, rules and regulations to residents and ensures residents comply with shelter rules and regulations.
· Documents any emergencies and accident/incidents, and reports them to the Director as soon as possible.
· Recruits, trains and supervises all volunteers and tracks the number of volunteer hours in the program.
· Acts as a professional advocate for clients.
· Maintains a current file for each family/individual in the program that documents work with clients clearly, accurately, and timely, consistent with program requirements and progress toward client’s goals.
· Responsible for front desk area, answering phones, faxes, emails, and other duties as assigned.
· Performs other duties as assigned to ensure program outcomes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Demonstrates a working knowledge of and sensitivity to the need of low-income people.
· Can produce documents and emails in a Microsoft Windows environment; can use appropriate software within one month of hire.
· Must be able to work in a creative problem-solving environment with major emphasis on program outcomes, staff and empowerment, and community collaboration.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour
