SUMMARY: The Landscape Irrigation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems throughout cemetery grounds. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair irrigation systems including controllers, valves, sprinkler heads, rotors, drip lines, and backflow devices.
- Diagnose electrical and hydraulic irrigation issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Program and adjust irrigation controllers based on seasonal requirements and weather conditions.
- Perform system startups and seasonal inspections.
- Repair damaged irrigation lines caused by grave preparation or landscaping activities.
- Coordinate irrigation scheduling to avoid interference with funeral services and visitors.
- Monitor water usage and identify opportunities for conservation.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, adjustments, and system updates.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and local water management guidelines.
- Operate trenching tools, pipe cutters, and other related equipment safely.
- Notifying crew supervisor immediately of unsafe working conditions or practices observed in the area

- Other duties may be assigned
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of landscape irrigation experience required.
- Experience working in a cemetery, park, or large landscaped property preferred
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, wiring, valves, controllers, programing and water pressure management.
- Ability to read irrigation plans and blueprints.
- Must possess a valid California driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the Company's insurance carrier.
- Advanced irrigation system diagnostics

- Basic equipment and maintenance tools
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Frequent bending, kneeling, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and uneven ground and landscape slopes.
- Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
