Position Overview: Mission Grammar School is seeking a dedicated and passionate 5th/6th Grade Social Studies and Religion Teacher to join our dynamic team. This role blends instructional leadership and direct classroom teaching. The Social Studies and Religion Teacher will design and deliver high-quality instruction for scholars in grades 5 and 6.
This position is ideal for an educator who believes deeply in the potential of every child and is committed to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning. The teacher will work closely with colleagues, administrators, and support teams to ensure all scholars achieve strong academic growth and develop confidence as historians, global citizens, and young people of faith.

Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Social Studies, Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Valid teaching certification in Elementary or Middle Grades Education (or eligibility for certification)
Experience teaching upper elementary social studies and/or religion preferred
Familiarity with Catholic faith tradition and values, and a commitment to integrating faith into daily instruction
Strong understanding of standards-based instruction and data-driven teaching practices
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction (Grades 5–6):
Design and deliver rigorous, engaging instruction in social studies and religion aligned to standards and the school's Catholic mission
Use high-quality curricular resources to plan lessons, units, and assessments
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support or enrichment
Foster critical thinking, inquiry, historical analysis, and collaboration
Promote civic awareness, cultural understanding, spiritual growth, and a global perspective in all scholars
Use formative and summative data to adjust instruction and drive student achievement
Collaboration & Professional Practice:
Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to plan instruction and analyze student data
Partner with the Special Education and Support Teams to provide cohesive, differentiated support
Participate in coaching, professional development, and continuous improvement efforts
Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance

Use data and scholar work to continuously improve instruction and outcomes
