What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Packager position at Mission Foods?
Packers are responsible for the proper hand-packaging of quality corn or flour tortillas and/or fried products.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for following Good Manufacturing Practices, especially good hand-washing practices.
- Hand package corn or flour tortillas and/or fried products.
- Look at stacker mirror at all times to watch for tortilla and or fried product jams.
- Check the appearance and quality of tortillas/fried product.
- Check bags to make sure proper packaging is being used.
- Ensure catch-pan is cleaned constantly.
- Inspect tortillas/fried product to assure they are free of foreign materials or contamination.
- Maintain rework containers closed.
- Rework the tortillas/fried product according to their formula.
- Keep work area clean.
- Report to work on time to relieve the previous shift.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Must know how to read, write, add and subtract
- Able to work flexible schedule and weekends
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
Shift: 2nd & 3rd
***Flexibility with OT and weekends required***
Starting Hourly Pay: $21.56 shift differential, OT, 8 Holidays, & Vacation Pay
