Azteca Milling LP, the producer of MASECA, is a division of Gruma Corporation. With over 60 years of experience, Gruma is the world's largest producer of corn masa flour. Azteca Milling L.P. has an immediate opening for a Corn Buyer at his Manufacturing Facility in Evansville, IN.
The primary function of this position is to originate corn from local producers, according to the Company’s Identity Preserve Program (IP). Contribute to achieve company’s mission and goals, which result in outstanding customer service, and a profitable Procurement Department.
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 0-3 years of experience in similar position. * Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

- Contact growers prior to planting season.
- Check and audit corn fields during the growing season.
- Travel to corn areas.
- Establish good relationship with corn growers and another Agribusiness.
- Work with cooperators to assure tests are planted and harvested.
- Sign corn contracts with growers.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret Hybrid Testing Program Agronomic and Grain Quality Data.
- Perform activities according to position training matrix.
- Responsible to understand his/her role in the Food Safety Management System by awareness of the importance and relevancy of his/her activities and to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of corn agronomics
- Microsoft office expertise, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook
- Valid Driver’s License
- Good communications skills
- Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.
- Regular attendance required.
Salary : $70,000
