Do you appreciate beautiful furniture, love an organized space, and believe a job is only finished when everything is put away properly? Mission Design Co. is looking for a careful, dependable Furniture Mover & Staging Assistant to support our home staging projects.
This role combines physical work, thoughtful furniture handling, warehouse organization, and communication with our staging team. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in every detail—from protecting a sofa during delivery to returning inventory clean and organized.
What you’ll do
- Load, transport, deliver, and remove furniture, artwork, and staging accessories.
- Pack trucks thoughtfully and securely, making efficient use of space while protecting every item.
- Safely move furniture through doorways, stairways, and finished homes, protecting walls, floors, and surrounding surfaces.
- Help place furniture according to staging notes and team direction.
- Keep furniture clean, properly wrapped, and protected during handling and storage.
- Return inventory and moving supplies to their designated locations.
- Keep the warehouse neat, organized, and easy for the team to navigate.
- Use phone apps, including Hutch, to read project notes and access job information.
- Communicate clearly with the staging team and promptly report damage, missing items, or project concerns.
You’ll be a great fit if you
- Can safely lift and move items weighing more than 50 pounds, using team lifts and moving equipment as appropriate.
- Have exceptional attention to detail and notice when something is dirty, damaged, misplaced, or packed incorrectly.
- Enjoy figuring out how furniture fits together in a truck or storage space—your real-life Tetris skills will come in handy.
- Appreciate interior design, furniture, and well-presented spaces.
- Naturally keep things tidy and organized.
- Treat furniture and clients’ homes with care and respect.
- Are comfortable navigating smartphone apps and following written notes.
- Are dependable, communicate well, and take ownership of your work.
- Take pride in doing the job carefully and thoroughly.
Moving, furniture delivery, warehouse, or home staging experience is a plus.
Schedule & compensation
- Availability: Weekdays, Monday–Friday.
- Location: In person at our warehouse and staging properties throughout the Columbus area.
- Position type: 1099 independent subcontractor.
- Pay structure: Hybrid compensation combining project-based pay and an hourly rate, depending on the assignment. Specific rates and details will be discussed during the interview process.
