What are the responsibilities and job description for the AV Technician position at Mission Critical Solutions?
MCS is hiring for an Audio Visual Technician in Tampa, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.
The Audio Visual Technician must demonstrate experience with A/V, Data, Voice, Networking, and Fiber cabling. The Audio Visual Technician will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.
Typical duties include:
- Terminating, Testing, Soldering, and Dressing all Low Voltage Cabling.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Using Scissor Lifts / Boom Lifts.
- Traveling to project and user locations around the greater Tampa Bay Area.
- Working flexible hours including nights and/or weekends.
- Installing and setting up media equipment such as LCD projectors, speakers, TVs, video monitors, and cameras.
- Complete electrical wiring, programming, and basic construction
- Setting up additional AV tools like equipment racks.
Required:
Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent
Certification Requirements: Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge.
- OSHA 10/30, CTS, Creston, AMX, or Extron certifications desired
Experience Requirements:
- 2 years of Low Voltage or Control Systems experience preferred.
- 2 years of experience installing AV/VTC equipment.
- Ability to terminate cabling.
- Ability to gain access to DOD/Government facilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
- Ability to travel to project sites outside of the Tampa Bay Area.
