What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Steel Foreman position at Mission Critical Interior Solutions, Inc?
The Foreman at MCIS is responsible for directly overseeing and coordinating solution teams, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Foreman serves as the first line of leadership on the jobsite, driving daily productivity, safety, and quality.
In addition, the Foreman supports the Basic Installation Unit (BIU) framework by managing crew-level execution, tracking manpower readiness, and providing real-time updates on work status, materials, and equipment. In this role, the Foreman ensures alignment between field teams and broader BIU operational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead structural steel crews (columns, beams, joists, decking, misc. metals)
- Assign daily tasks and enforce safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Coordinate crane operations, rigging, and material staging
- Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and OSHA requirements
- Track daily progress, manpower, and material needs
- Coordinate with other trades to maintain workflow
- Conduct toolbox talks, pre-task plans, and enforce PPE use
- Report progress, delays, and safety concerns to the Superintendent
Qualifications
- 3 years experience as a Structural Steel Foreman, Lead Ironworker, or similar
- Strong knowledge of steel erection, rigging, and crane operations
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and erection plans
- Proven leadership and communication skills
- OSHA 30 preferred
Schedule & Pay
- Monday–Friday, day shift (overtime as needed)
- Weekly pay (Fridays)
- Pay based on experience
