Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests to diagnose and treat patients in accordance with hospital protocols, CLIA and other regulatory standards.
- Operate laboratory equipment to run tests and analyze results.
- Communicate results of laboratory tests clearly and accurately to providers and other hospital staff.
- Follow protocol and procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
- Maintain records and data on all laboratory tests.
- Utilize computer systems and software to support laboratory operations.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of work area and equipment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, or in a related field.
- Must meet the CLIA’s (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment) regulations.
- Experience working in a healthcare laboratory.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, follow a high level of detail, and adhere to time deadlines.
- Must be accurate and organized.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and associated computer systems and software.
- Must have analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
