ER Registered Nurse

About the Role:

The ER Registered Nurse will work on nights and plays a critical role in delivering high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position requires the ability to rapidly assess patient conditions, prioritize care, and implement appropriate nursing interventions to stabilize and treat acute medical issues. The nurse will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, specialists, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive patient management and optimal outcomes. Additionally, the role involves providing compassionate patient and family education, emotional support, and advocacy during times of crisis. Ultimately, the ER Registered Nurse contributes to maintaining a safe, efficient, and patient-centered emergency department that meets all regulatory and institutional standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of ER experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Strong knowledge of emergency nursing protocols, patient assessment, and clinical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) or equivalent specialty certification.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical informatics.
• Demonstrated leadership or preceptorship experience within a clinical team.
• Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough and timely patient assessments upon arrival to the emergency department.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians and according to established protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status continuously, recognizing and responding to changes promptly.
• Coordinate patient care activities with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless and effective treatment plans.
• Document all nursing care, patient responses, and clinical observations accurately and in compliance with legal and institutional requirements.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain readiness to respond to emergency situations, including trauma, cardiac arrest, and other critical events.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control and safety standards.
