Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team in providing exceptional patient care. This role is a set 2 nights per week which includes every other weekend. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation.
- Administer medications, injections, and manage medication documentation with precision.
- Provide acute pain management and participate in triage activities to prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Support patients with complex conditions such as dementia care, memory care, behavioral health issues, or those requiring hospice & palliative medicine.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and coordination across settings.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records and documentation of all patient interactions.
Requirements
- Valid registered nurse (RN) license in good standing; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are required.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical environments including hospital medicine, and psychiatric nursing experience.
- Familiarity with paper-based charting.
- Experience working with special populations including older adults and geriatrics.
- Ability to perform invasive procedures like phlebotomy, venipuncture, and catheter care confidently.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration; comfort working in high-pressure environments .
