A Brief Overview

The Talent Development Department Manager provides leadership, vision, planning, and oversight to the Learning & Development division. To lead a team tasked with identifying, developing, coordinating and implementing L&D solutions to facilitate the training needed to ensure leadership and staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate our ministry effectively.


This position requires an active commitment to the mission, values, and doctrinal stance of MAF. In the course of performing job duties, the employee will act in a manner that is Christ-honoring as well as Christ-like, demonstrating a personal Christian faith and witness in all interpersonal interactions.


Essential Duties

35% Team Leadership and Development

  • Leads a team responsible for equipping MAF staff with tools/resources to increase ministry effectiveness.
  • Plans and executes strategic goals and objectives, and casts vision for the L&D division.
  • Develops and implements effective staff learning and development strategies.

10% Leads & Encourages Team's Spiritual Development & Growth

25% Create new L&D resources and improve existing ones.

15% Collaborates with field and HQ leadership.

10% L&D communication and promotion

5% Current & future state of learning & development


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Education, or Instructional Design preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 10 years experience in a related field required.
  • 5 years experience in adult education and adult learning principles required.
  • 5 years supervision and leadership experience required.
  • 2 years experience creating and maintaining coursework required.
  • 2 years project management experience required.


Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge/understanding of issues and implications of face-to-face, blended, and online learning.
  • Intermediate skill in instructional design
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher
  • Intermediate knowledge/understanding of learning management systems.
  • Intermediate skill in authoring tools
  • Intermediate ability in developing expertise in new software/systems


Travel Requirements

  • Infrequent domestic travel to attend seminars and further education training.
  • Infrequent international travel to programs for training purposes; and other MAFs for partnering.

Salary : $76,792 - $89,590
