EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school degree or equivalent

Animal care background is desirable, but not required.
Performance Expectations
- Provides compassionate care to pets.
- Can conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks.
- Has the ability to communicate with owners and make them feel comfortable with leaving their pet(s) in our care.
- Can follow a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing all suites and related areas; changes litter boxes and food/water bowls.
- Can feed each animal as the owner has requested and records appetites.
- Understands the importance of prioritizing tasks and keeps oneself busy and productive during work shifts.
- Can maintain laundry for the kennel, daycare and grooming
- Can give baths and brush out pets.
- Can collect urine and fecal specimens.
- Can give kennel tours while highlighting features that differentiate us from other boarding/daycares in our area.
- Can recognize and report any unusual condition or abnormal behavior.
- Administration of medications
- Assist with proper animal restraint
- Cleans equipment and facilities using chemicals and supplies; understands the importance of safety of use of chemicals in our facility.
- Understands and carries out the daily, weekly and monthly chore list to maintain the cleanliness, the equipment, and overall appearance of the facility.
- Understands and carries out oral and written directions.
- Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees.
- Can answer client’s inquiries about basic animal care questions.
- Checking in/out, sales, and Cash Handling
- Can handle records entries accurately.
- Can prepare client invoices for services performed.
- Can accurately handle payment transactions
- Hospitality
- Can bond with clients during interactions.
- Can keep the front desk a positive area even in the event there is a client wait time.
- Can work to maintain an effective appointment schedule
Computer Knowledge / Telephone Skills
- Answers telephones and handle calls quickly, efficiently and in a professional and friendly manner using a multi-line system.
- Can Enter and update client and pet information into facility computer software.
- Has good computer skills and shows accuracy in inputting details.
- Answers emails quickly, efficiently and in a professional and friendly manner
- Can conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner with clients even when situations are stressful and/or focused on individual tasks.
- Can deal intelligibly, pleasantly and efficiently with clients, often doing several things at one time.
- Can greet clients with poise and natural effort.
- Can turn future clients (phone-shoppers) into clients through relationship building and bonding.
- Can easily remember clients and pets names and uses them.
- Uses software to look up medications, feeding, bathing instructions.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.25 - $15.50 per hour
