What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Operations Regional Manager – West Coast position at Mispro?
Mispro operates a network of AAALAC-accredited contract vivariums supporting world-class in vivo research. We are seeking a Site Operations Regional Manager to lead operations, people, and client partnerships across multiple West Coast sites. This role ensures exceptional animal welfare, operational excellence, and a positive, service-focused culture. Reports directly to the Senior Director of Operations.
Regular regional travel is required, with occasional national travel as needed.
What You’ll Do
Regional Leadership & Operations
- Oversee daily vivarium operations, animal care standards, and regulatory compliance across 3 facilities.
- Maintain consistency in documentation, SOPs, workflows, and emergency/BMS systems.
- Drive continuous improvement and support AAALAC accreditation.
People Leadership
- Lead and develop Site Operations Supervisors and indirectly support technicians and site leads.
- Build an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing regional culture.
- Support AALAS certification and staff growth.
Client Partnership
- Serve as the primary operational liaison for regional clients.
- Ensure strong communication, onboarding, issue resolution, and service delivery.
- Represent Mispro at client and investor events.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Compliance/IACUC, Technical Operations, Sales, and Finance.
- Support accreditation processes and assess service opportunities.
Financial Management
- Manage regional budgets, staffing levels, consumables, and billing.
- Identify cost-effective solutions and contribute to ROI assessments.
What You Bring
- 5 years of vivarium operations experience and 5 years leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of in vivo research models, animal welfare regulations, and AAALAC standards.
- LAT required; LATg preferred (ILAM/CMAR a plus).
- Strong communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to maintain regular on-site presence and travel regionally.
- Science, Animal Science, or Veterinary Technology degree preferred.
