Dryer Operator

Job Summary

Perform operations required to take produce from wash line to dryers and then move produce to packaging line for a fresh food (produce) processing plant. Must be able to work closely with others, have a good work ethic and be willing to work varied hours to include overtime as needed. This is a full time position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work on salad production line, moving washed produce in and out of dryers to packaging line
• Ability to safely and frequently lift and lower, push/pull – totes that range up to 60 pounds
• Follow all operational policies and procedures, including GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Must understand and follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
• Must understand the purpose of Personal Protective Equipment and adhere to all requirements.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have strong teamwork and communication skills and maintain consistent reliability and punctual attendance.
• Must have strong reading and writing skills to understand and complete work-related documents and communications.
• Must be able to read and understand work orders and safety instructions
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbally and in writing
• Ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously
• Bilingual/Bi-literate (English/Spanish) a plus

Experience and Education

• One year experience or experience in a production environment preferably
• High School Diploma or GED
• Work environment can be loud, wet and cold (approximately 36 degrees Fahrenheit)
• Flexibility to work 6 consecutive days, overtime and weekends if necessary

Pay: $18.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
