Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Manager

This is a professional position that supervises all staff in the Assertive Community Treatment Program and requires advanced knowledge of the theoretical basis, principles, and practices in the clinical treatment of persons in crisis and those with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI).  It is especially important that the person in this position have the ability to establish effective clinical and collaborative relationships with a wide range of people and have knowledge of community resources.  The person in this position advocates, educates, and models positive interactions with the staff supervised and the consumers in the community.  This person must also have knowledge of supervisory principles and practices, including but not limited to staff development and the implementation of practices or training meant to protect staff and participants. The person in this position must be skilled in effective communication and be able to prepare extensive documentation in a timely and comprehensive manner.  This position functions under the general guidance and supervision of the Adult Services Director.

 

Specific

  • Plan, organize, and direct the service delivery of the Assertive Community Treatment Program
  • Collaborate with the Adult Services Director and other program staff to formulate goals and operational procedures for the department
  • Assist in the administration of the program budget
  • Responsible for supervision, training, evaluation, and discipline of all program staff
  • Responsible for ensuring audits are completed in a timely manner
  • Responsible for ensuring and monitoring employee compliance with direct service, productivity, and documentation standards per agency and program expectations
  • Coordinate team meetings, clinical staffing, in-service and other training
  • Develop and maintain contact with community resources, other agencies, funding agencies, advocacy groups, etc. to facilitate referral systems, coordination of services, and public acceptance
  • Ensure integrated Person-Centered plan of service for each individual served
  • Develop and participate in Utilization Review and in-service training
  • Direct and oversee all recordkeeping and collection of necessary statistics
  • Prepare reports to ensure compliance with all funding and monitoring requirements
  • Assume specific roles, e.g., administrative liaison, with other agencies
  • Provide direct services both individual and group, as needed
  • Responsible for enhancing staff knowledge and awareness of safety principles particularly in regards to community visits and use of agency vehicles
  • Monitor ACT Program’s fidelity to the ACT model
  • Produce schedules, lists, and other documentation that may be needed for the smooth operation of the ACT Team
  • Participate in 24/7 “on call” coverage for ACT Program via cell phone
  • Interface with ACT psychiatrist & Nurse practitioners, as needed, for both program and consumer needs and issues
  • Coordinate ACT group activities
  • Work with Access Department in scheduling and appropriate triaging of intakes completed by the ACT program
  • Serve as the “in house” manager for the agency, as scheduled, and is a member of the DCI Response Team
  • Facilitates handling of ACT funds for program operation, including medication expenses, activity costs, etc.
  • Ensures all programs and sites of responsibility meet agency productivity standards
  • Must adhere agency policy and procedures
  • Adhere to all requirements/standards of the Behavioral Health Telehealth Agreement
  • Other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Education, Licensure and/or Certification

Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related mental health discipline

Appropriate State of Michigan professional licensure, required

Current CPR/First Aid Certification, preferred

 

  1. Experience

3 years of progressively more responsible professional experience

Agency Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, a good driving record, and valid insurance of personal vehicle, if used, which is acceptable to MiSide’s insurance carrier.
  • Acceptable results from criminal background and sex offender registry checks
  • Must attend required training courses, as directed.

    The physical requirements are representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

    • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
    • Able to read, write and interpret written and electronic documents
    • Able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time and utilize technology for job functions
    • Communicate effectively with consumers and coworkers
    • Ability to drive a vehicle safely and effectively
    • Able to endure temperatures both warm and cold to service clients in community
    • Able to walk, bend, kneel, and stand in order to service clients in the home and community

Salary : $58,000 - $68,500
