Location: NYC Hybrid (2-3 days/week in office)

Reports To: VP of Marketing

About the Role:

We’re looking for a creative-first social marketer deeply tapped into Gen Z culture to lead the evolution of Misfits’ organic social channels, with a focus on TikTok and Instagram. You’ll operate as a creative strategist, responsible for ideating, sourcing, and executing content that feels native, culturally relevant, and highly engaging.


You should have a strong instinct for what Gen Z finds fun, interesting, and worth sharing, and be able to translate fast-moving trends and internet culture into content that resonates with our brand and audience. You’ll own the end-to-end content process while working closely with the VP of Marketing to shape Misfits’ overall social content strategy and ensure alignment with the broader brand vision.


This role is NYC-based with the expectation to work 2-3 days/week in person; remote candidates will be considered for the right fit.


What You’ll Do:


Creative Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and own Misfits’ social content roadmap, including content calendar and posting cadence
  • Build and test content pillars and repeatable formats that create an ownable social strategy for Misfits, creating love and loyalty with our core consumer
  • Partner closely with the Senior Creative Manager to define and evolve Misfits’ social voice, tone, and creative direction
  • Stay ahead of trends, memes, and cultural moments, translating them into brand-relevant content


Content Creation, Execution, & Channel Management

  • Concept, shoot, and edit short-form video content (TikTok, Reels)
  • Create and/or source native, platform-first content that resonates with Gen Z and builds brand affinity
  • Develop repeatable content formats and series that drive engagement and consistency
  • Own day-to-day management of Misfits’ social channels, including posting and execution


Performance & Optimization

  • Track and analyze content performance across engagement, retention, and follower growth
  • Identify what resonates with Gen Z audiences and scale winning content
  • Iterate quickly based on performance and cultural shifts, continuously optimizing output


Creator Management

  • Source, brief, and manage external creators to produce content
  • Develop clear creative briefs aligned with brand and campaign objectives
  • Ensure creator output feels authentic, native, and culturally relevant
  • Build and maintain a network of creators aligned with Misfits


Community Engagement

  • Engage with comments and DMs in a way that feels native, timely, and culturally fluent
  • Help build a strong, active community around Misfits via outbound engagement tactics, broadcast channel, product surprise and delights, and beyond
  • Oversee freelance community managers as applicable


What We’re Looking For

  • 4–7 years of experience in social content strategy and execution within CPG, beauty, or lifestyle brands
  • Proven track record leading high-performing TikTok and Instagram content that drives engagement and cultural relevance
  • Deep, instinctive understanding of Gen Z culture, humor, and internet behavior
  • Strong creative instincts and taste level, with the ability to translate trends into original, on-brand content formats
  • Hands-on experience shooting and editing short-form video with an eye for native, high-quality content (Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi)
  • Experience sourcing, briefing, and managing external creators
  • Equally comfortable being strategic and hands-on
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data, identify patterns, and translate insights into better content
  • Content portfolio required demonstrating creative thinking, execution, and platform-native work
