About Misericordia


Misericordia Home is a community comprised of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, compassionate staff, and dedicated families. We are located on the north side of Chicago, on a 37-acre campus and have homes in the surrounding community. We offer a full continuum of care for more than 600 children and adults from diverse racial, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. Services range from skilled nursing care to semi-independent living. In addition, individuals who become part of the Misericordia community have access to employment, educational, recreational and social opportunities both on campus and in the greater Chicagoland community. Misericordia is recognized as a strong leader in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities and promotes innovative and creative options that maximize the potential for continual growth and independence.

The Assistant Vice President will be responsible for the overall leadership and development of their department. The Assistant Vice President of Residential Services works directly with their Directors to ensure quality and appropriate care to residents. This role will require leadership and support for the ongoing growth and development of their team members by investing in talent management and creating a pipeline for continual growth. The Assistant Vice President will collaborate with other AVPs, Directors and the Vice President of Residential Services to provide exceptional care for our residents.


Responsibilities:

· Acts as a leader and role model with knowledge and belief of Misericordia's mission, philosophy, purpose, and scope of services.

· Supports the VP in the design and implementation of broad residential strategy; prepares and aligns strategy for own area, looking out 2-3 years.

· The AVP is responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies/procedures and rules and regulations, of licensing and governing bodies.

· Supports Directors in meeting compliance needs, ensuring a thriving environment for residents, facilitating healthy familial communications, and continuous development for team members.

· Forms strong relationships with staff, families, and leadership team

· Demonstrates the ability to collaborate and maintain open and effective communication through relationships and partnerships.

· Collects and analyzes data from residence(s) to identify gap areas and create possible solutions.

· Takes initiative to support their residence(s) in all aspects with a focus on the future of Misericordia.

· Invests in the talent and development of their team members; develops Directors and supports their ongoing growth and holds Directors accountable for the growth of their team members.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • State of Illinois Licensed Nursing Home Administrator license preferred; or expected to acquire within 1 year of accepting position
  • Knowledge of regulations, electronic health records, day programs, ICF|HCBS and government contacts necessary in residential services
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Service area; Master’s Degree in a Human Service area preferred, and/or at least 5 years of strong residential leadership experience.
  • Experience developing and monitoring strategy implementation
  • Experience building and maintaining strong partnerships
  • Excellent management and team building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay Range: $84,500-90,500 per year
