What are the responsibilities and job description for the AI Artist position at Mise-en-Scene?
We’re Hiring: AI Storytellers (Creative Technologists / Filmmakers)
Mise is looking for storytellers who happen to be technically fluent in AI.
Let’s be clear about what we’re not looking for.
Anyone can generate “cool” images with AI. That’s not the job.
We’re looking for people who understand story. People who know how to make an audience feel something. People who can take a loose idea, a half-formed concept, or a strange brief and shape it into a working narrative with intention, rhythm, and emotional clarity.
You should think like a filmmaker first and a technologist second, even if you’re very good at the tech.
Speed matters.
We work fast. Creating excellent work is non-negotiable, but being able to do it quickly, iteratively, and under real-world timelines is equally important.
What you’ll do
- Develop narrative concepts from rough ideas through to finished work
- Use AI tools as part of a larger storytelling workflow, not as a shortcut
- Craft visual sequences that support story, pacing, and emotion
- Work quickly without losing taste or intention
- Collaborate with directors, agencies, and brands
What we’re looking for
- Strong storytelling instincts and visual literacy
- Experience creating narrative-driven content (film, commercials, animatics, experimental work)
- Comfort working from ambiguity and shaping ideas into something coherent and compelling
- An ability to move fast while maintaining a high creative bar
Technical requirements
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- After Effects
- Photoshop
- Nuke is a plus
- Traditional VFX experience is a plus
AI tools (experience required)
- Midjourney
- Veo
- ElevenLabs
- Familiarity with a broad range of AI platforms and workflows
You do need to be able to make beautiful, striking images.
But more importantly, you need to know why you’re making them.
Any time zone is fine.
If you care about story, emotion, and using AI as a creative instrument rather than a novelty, we’d love to hear from you.
- Apply with a brief note about yourself and examples of work that show how you think.
