The Production Planner responsibilities include the scheduling and management of material from customer order through shipment. The position requires collaboration with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality to address issues and facilitate rescheduling. Additionally, the production planner will identify risks to the production plan, evaluate their impact, and implement countermeasures for material shortages and production delays.

- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, resource availability, and production capacity. Ensure alignment with sales forecasts and inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory.
- Create and release production orders and generate purchase requisitions for material to maintain production schedule using ERP system
- Communicate scheduling issues and conflicts with impacted departments or personnel
- Investigate material shortages and work with procurement to expedite as required
- Provide shipment commit dates and changes to delivery plan in a timely manner
- Maintain inventory accuracy by assisting with cycle counts and inventory discrepancies
- Work with quality and engineering to execute change orders and to priorities incoming material
- Participate in forecasting meetings with Sales, Production, and other related departments
- Review Daily customer requirements, production capacity and prioritize flow of work through shop floor
- Assist in production order closing and database updates as needed
- Communicate and correlate with other departments as necessary to support production and inventory goals
- May involve the scheduling of first article production and one-off projects builds
- Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives and the documentation of standard work
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Proficiency in ERP software. SAP experience preferred
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make timely decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges related to material flow and production scheduling
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools
- Certifications in supply chain management, such as APICS CPIM or CSCP, are a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2–3-years of experience in a Manufacturing environment
