Description

The Systems Administrator is expected to be highly skilled and self-motivated with experience in Hyper-V Clustering, server administration, scripting, and basic network fundamentals, to join our team. This role emphasizes technical expertise, problem-solving, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties

• Deploy and manage Hyper-V Clusters, including shared storage, disk configurations, and load balancing.
• Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and system management.
• Collaborate with network team to support Fortinet firewalls, switches, and access points at the Oak Ridge facilities.
• Monitor system performance, ensure uptime, and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
• Maintain documentation for systems architecture, configurations, and procedures.
• Provide on-site support to ensure rapid response to manufacturing needs.
• Lead technical projects and proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Knowledge of Hyper-V and related infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and PowerShell scripting.
• Working knowledge of network engineering, including cabling and basic switch configuration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  
  

Preferred

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial IT environments.
• Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage systems
• Experience with Veeam Backups.
• Familiarity with SQL queries, PowerBI, and PowerAutomate.
