Job Summary:
The Facilities Manager helps to lead the Facilities Department, inclusive of maintenance, engineering, exterior grounds, painting and overall preventative care for the entire property. This role helps maintain the beauty, safety, and functionality of the property through routine upkeep, repairs, and special projects. By leading and working closely with the facilities team and the Director of Facilities, this role ensures the entire property reflects Mirbeau’s commitment to excellence and enhances the guest experience, inside and out.

Pay Rate: $58,000- $64,000 per year
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operations
- Provide leadership of Facilities Department, including all facilities, maintenance, and grounds operations across the entire property
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, office areas, mechanical rooms, laundry, spa, F&B spaces, and outdoor areas
- Oversee the operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of all building systems, including: HVAC, heating and cooling, laundry, kitchen equipment, and overall infrastructure
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all interior and exterior areas, equipment rooms, storage spaces, and work areas
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and safety of pools, whirlpools, and other recreational facilities and amenities
- Oversee and manage all grounds/exterior maintenance, including: landscaping, painting, snow removal, mowing, and pest control
- o Maintain and monitor systems across the property, including: computer systems, networks, POS stations, phones, music systems, lighting, and other technology-related equipment
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations, permits, licenses, and inspections
- Maintain all required logs, reports, and documentation for building systems, equipment, and safety programs
- Ensure all fire, life-safety, emergency, and security systems are fully operational and meet all regulatory standards
- Train and maintain the department on emergency procedures and response procedures
- Maintain locks, keys, emergency lighting, and all other safety-related equipment in proper working order
- Identify and report any unusual conditions that may pose a risk to safety, operations, or building systems
- Coordinate and maintain preventative maintenance programs, adhering to all necessary laws
- Ensure compliance with all City, State, and Federal laws and ordinances
Administrative
- Hire, train, and lead the facilities team, setting clear expectations and upholding high standards
- Manage departmental payroll and productivity to align with operational and financial goals
- Maintain clear communication with all departments regarding work requests and project status
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies to support efficient operations
Quality Standards
- Ensure that all department work meets or exceeds Mirbeau’s standards of cleanliness, comfort, and refinement
- Take full accountability for the quality of work performed in assigned areas
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment, enforcing preventative maintenance programs to ensure longevity of equipment and facilities
- Ensure availability of tools, supplies, and backup parts to allow for prompt response to maintenance needs
- Control and maintain conservative and responsible energy usage throughout the property to promote efficiency and sustainability
Professionalism & Collaboration
- Manage and prioritize work requests from all resort departments, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results
- Assist with planning and execution of property renovations and improvement projects
- Attend all scheduled meetings as required by the resort
- Support overall operations through additional duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities
Qualifications, Skills & Educational Requirements:
Experience & Education
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a maintenance or facilities role is required, preferably within an elevated hospitality, resort, or similar, multi-faceted environment
- Proven experience leading, training, and supervising maintenance teams, with the ability to set priorities and maintain accountability
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of building and construction systems and practices, including: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and equipment installation/operations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment specifications
- Strong understanding of repair and maintenance costs, budgeting, with the ability to make cost-effective decisions for building systems and equipment
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods safely and consistently
- Must be in good physical health, with the stamina required for active duties of the role, with the ability to actively engage in inspections and hands-on tasks as needed
Personal Attributes
- Exceptional attention to detail and high personal standards for cleanliness, compliance, and presentation
- Organized and self-motivated with the ability to manage people, time and tasks efficiently
- Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to pivot between duties and assist in various areas as needed
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions precisely as well as delegate accordingly
