About the role
Miramont Country Club is seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead all maintenance operations on our stunning Robert Trent Jones II-designed course. This is a high-visibility leadership role where you'll set agronomic standards, develop a skilled team, and deliver exceptional playing conditions that define the Miramont member experience.
Agronomy & Operations
- Direct all golf course maintenance activities
- Manage turf, fertilization & plant protection programs
- Oversee irrigation scheduling, operation & repair
- Proactively manage disease, insect & weed pressure via IPM
- Calibrate fertilizer & pesticide equipment
- Supervise bunkers, ornamental beds & tree/shrub care
Leadership & Team
- Supervise assistant superintendents & mid-level managers
- Brief team daily on priorities & upcoming projects
- Interview, hire & onboard new team members
- Train staff on safe equipment use & irrigation
- Process timekeeping & payroll approvals
- Assist the Director of Agronomy with budgeting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3–4 years of golf operations management experience
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and turf/plant science
- Excellent communication and member relations skills
- Valid Driver's License & TDA Pesticide Applicator's License (Texas)
- 4-year degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or Golf Course Management preferred
- Warm-season turfgrass management experience preferred
- Golf course construction or renovation experience preferred
- Prior high-end club or hospitality experience preferred
