Job Summary
One regular, part-time, grant-funded position, 18 hours per week, 12 months per year on the Oceanside Campus. The normal work schedule will be Monday & Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Occasional Saturdays will be required. The position is currently funded through 6/30/2027 only; continued employment after this date is contingent on grant renewal. The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation. This is as “extended day” position, subject to possible fluctuations in daily working hours, and may be exempt from compensation for overtime in excess of eight (8) hours in one day. Hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours in a week shall be compensated on an overtime basis. PLEASE NOTE: This is a nonteaching/noninstructional laboratory technician position that supports the nursing and allied health programs. The first-level interviews with the screening and interview committee will be conducted via Zoom. The second-level interviews may be in-person or via Zoom. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite. The purpose of the policy is to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high-quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs. The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or outside the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.
