Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for ensuring the contractor implements an effective Quality Control (QC) program and consistently applies all QC provisions to maintain strict compliance with contract requirements. This role performs daily inspections, reviews contract deliverables, and documents all findings to support the Project Manager and COR. The QA Inspector ensures that all work meets required standards and that deficiencies are identified, documented, and corrected promptly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the contractor implements and maintains an effective Quality Control (QC) program.
- Perform daily inspections to verify all work complies with contract requirements, drawings, and specifications.
- Review contract deliverables and submittals for accuracy and conformance.
- Request and track corrective actions for any deficiencies identified during inspections.
- Develop a project specific Quality Assurance (QA) plan, including inspection, testing, and reporting procedures.
- Monitor contractor QC inspection and testing activities to ensure compliance.
- Prepare detailed daily QA reports documenting discussions with contractor QC staff, inspection results, and deficiencies; submit reports within 48 hours.
- Participate in preconstruction meetings for work items requiring QA involvement.
- Track and verify corrective actions taken by the contractor.
- Support the Project Manager and COR with QA documentation and communication.
- Work nights or weekends as required by the project schedule.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- US Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 10 years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience on commercial or Government construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and QC/QA processes.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
