Position Overview:

Under general supervision, the welder is responsible for producing high-quality welds on galvanized thin wall steel and/or black steel components using MIG welding equipment. Welders will interpret layouts, welding diagrams, and work orders to create strong, smooth, and visually appealing welds that meet our exacting standards. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

1.Ability to square up and weld various geometries of components

2.Understands various weld form symbols

3.Ability to weld vertical, horizontal, flat and overhead welds with precision

4.Ability to accurately read tape measure and blueprints.

5.Understand the process of prepping for finish by checking for pinholes in the weld, weld spatter on the part and eliminating sharp edges

6.Ability to inspect finished product, parts or units for conformance to print and all clean up detail

7.Maintain assigned area and equipment in safe and functional order

8.Welders may provide cross-functional fabricator duties as assigned

9.Perform operator daily PM on tools and equipment

10.Assist with fabrication tasks as assigned

11.Perform Daily housekeeping / 5S.

12.Ability to pass demonstrated weld test  

Qualifications, Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. 

Prefer one to three years related manufacturing experience.

Previous weld experience is required.

Must pass a weld symbol and demonstration test.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Ability to read and interpret basic documents, safety rules and other correspondence.

Ability to count and ability to measure equipment using a tape measure 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to perform duties with direction. 

Demonstrates blueprint reading skills.

Demonstrates ability to complete all paperwork necessary for the position.

Ensure facility maintenance through housekeeping, keeping product and facility secure, and maintaining the assets of the facility. 

Attendance Requirement:

Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such a level as is determined in the company’s employee handbook. Must be available and willing to work overtime hours as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs. Must be available and willing to work such weekends and/or holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Working Conditions:

May be exposed to noise if working in or around a production area.  Schedule is based on shift and production need.  Consistently required to stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear.  Physical demands include frequent lifting and/or carrying 50 lbs. and pushing or pulling 25 – 50 lbs. 

Position Location:

Position is onsite and not remote eligible. 

 Compensation:

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications, aligning with industry standards.  The salary range for Monett, MO is also based upon geographical market standards for the industry and position in those areas.

 There is a possibility of a bonus(es) based on individual performance and merit to be paid at the sole discretion of the company, but bonus(es) are not guaranteed unless outlined in writing in the offer letter extended to the candidate selected for the position.
