Position Summary
The Laundry Attendant / Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas while ensuring resident laundry and facility linens are processed accurately and efficiently. This position plays a vital role in supporting the comfort, dignity, and well-being of our residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Housekeeping
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, and common spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces according to established procedures.
- Empty trash and replenish supplies as needed.
- Follow infection control, sanitation, and safety guidelines.
- Report maintenance and safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Laundry
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.
- Ensure resident personal items are handled carefully and returned correctly.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area.
- Monitor linen inventory and report supply needs as necessary.
- Follow proper handling procedures for soiled linens and personal belongings.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping, laundry, or healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to spend extended periods standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
