Role Description The Lead Water Damage Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Charleston, SC. This position is responsible for leading water damage mitigation projects, including inspecting affected areas, setting up and monitoring drying equipment, performing water extraction, and documenting all work performed. The role includes supervising field crews, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining clear communication with customers, team members, and insurance representatives. Day-to-day tasks involve inspecting properties for water and moisture issues, coordinating equipment maintenance and setup, and supporting mold and structural drying efforts as needed. The Lead Water Damage Technician also helps train junior technicians, maintains accurate records, and upholds Minutemen’s standards for quality, professionalism, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Candidates need to possess strong technical skills in Water Damage assessment and mitigation.
• Candidates should possess skills in Equipment Maintenance to operate, monitor, and care for drying and extraction tools.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and insurance partners.
• IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification is REQUIRED.
• Previous experience in property restoration, construction, or a related field is required.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting equipment and working in confined or elevated spaces.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency response.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Compensation

• $28-$33 per hour depending on experience
