Position Summary
Minuteman Press – Edwardsville is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Digital Print Specialist to join our production team. This is a temporary, part-time position created to support our production team while our Digital Print Specialist is out.
The anticipated length of employment is approximately five- eight months, with the possibility of additional opportunities based on business needs and performance.

The Digital Print Specialist is responsible for operating Canon digital production equipment, preparing files for print, ensuring quality output, and assisting with bindery and finishing work. The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in producing high-quality printed materials.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate Canon digital production printers and related finishing equipment.
- Set up print jobs using imposition software to maximize efficiency and ensure proper layout.
- Verify files for correct bleeds, margins, crop marks, resolution, and print specifications.
- Understand and apply printing terminology, including bleeds, trim size, safe areas, color profiles, duplex printing, and paper grain.
- Monitor print quality, color consistency, and registration throughout production.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report maintenance needs when necessary.
- Perform bindery and finishing tasks, including:
- Cutting
- Folding
- Booklet making
- Stapling
- Laminating
- Padding
- Drilling
- Scoring
- Packaging completed orders
- Maintain accurate job documentation and prioritize work to meet customer deadlines.
- Keep the production area clean, organized, and stocked with paper and supplies.
- Assist other team members throughout the shop as production demands require.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating digital production printers is preferred (Canon experience is a plus).
- Working knowledge of imposition software or the ability to learn quickly.
- Strong understanding of:
- Bleeds
- Trim and finished sizes
- Crop marks
- Safe areas
- Digital printing terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with print production workflows.
- Previous experience in a commercial printing environment.
- Experience operating bindery equipment, including cutters, folders, laminators, and booklet makers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and carry paper boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to safely operate production and bindery equipment.
