Graphic Designer/Print Production

We are an independently operated franchisee of Minuteman Press, the world’s largest and top-rated digital print, marketing and design franchise. We are seeking a candidate for the role of Graphic Designer / Print Operator. The position involves graphic design, print production and customer service. Must have strong graphic/layout skills and the ability to learn and grow with our company. Be able to create new designs and concepts to meet customer requirements.

This may include any of the following design requirements: Company rebranding logos, business cards, business stationary, forms, banners, signs, window graphic design, and apparel.

Must have experience designing files for print (Bleed, Crop Marks and Imposition) as well as using all of the bindery equipment to produce a finished job. Print shop experience is preferred.

Duties of the Print Shop Graphic Design candidate will include:

• Work with relevant design related programs, including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Layout and manipulate various projects based on the customer’s needs.
• Understand different file types: Bitmap vs. Vector, JPG, PNG, EPS, PDF, etc.
• Manage projects that involve a wide range of high-quality printing and communication services.
• Preparing files for print production; checking fonts, links and colors, and imposing art when required. (Setting files multiple up with cut marks)
• Review job specification from work orders and ensure that client files are accurate to produce jobs.
• Develop and maintain client library files / file handling.
• Responsible for the use of digital copiers/presses to setup and produce customer jobs.
• Operate copiers/printers and finish materials. Includes cutting flyers/business cards, processing mailers, binding books, folding brochures, padding notepads, etc.
• Working with and preparing PDF files.
• Submitting files and placing orders with vendors.
• Customer service: assisting and consulting with clients about their projects in person, on the phone and via email.
• Preparing/packaging and shipping completed jobs.
• Maintain an orderly work area.

The successful candidate will:

• Have in-depth experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Have a proven track record or working with clients to produce artwork that meets their requirements.
• Have strong layout and design skills, pre-press experience and bindery/finishing experience.
• Have excellent people skills and communication skills. Positive and friendly.
• Be able to work independently and be able to multi-task/handle several client jobs at the same time.
• Experience with Fiery Command WorkStation.
• Experience with Xerox and Canon digital multi-function printers is preferred.
• Experience at a print or copy shop is preferred.
