Nature and Scope of Work: As the Principal at Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical School District, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of our institution. Your responsibilities will encompass strategic collaboration with the Superintendent and Executive Team, leading the development and execution of a challenging curriculum, fostering inclusivity, and promoting an environment where students are prepared for the global stage. You will actively contribute to the enhancement of programs and initiatives, ensuring the school's mission is upheld, and key objectives are met.
Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership:
•Collaborate with the Superintendent and Executive Team to develop and achieve the school's strategic goals.
•Oversee a comprehensive, challenging curriculum aligned with the MA Curriculum Frameworks, ensuring students are well-prepared for a global society.
•Design and implement programs catering to diverse student needs, with a focus on inclusivity and support.
•Provide visionary leadership to uphold the school's mission, recommending changes when necessary.
•Ensure the school program aligns seamlessly with legal, financial, and organizational structures.
•Set annual objectives for instructional, extracurricular, and athletic programs in line with DESE practices.
•Encourage staff participation in professional development, promoting the seamless integration of technology into teaching.
•Foster open communication with students, staff, and parents, actively engaging with groups like the Minuteman Parent Association.
•Lead the School Council by providing strategic direction for shaping school policies and initiatives, fostering an inclusive environment.
•Serve on the School Safety Committee, participating in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety measures to ensure the well-being of students, staff and visitors.
•Oversee Athletic Program by collaborating closely with athletic directors to develop and a school-wide athletic program which aligns athletic initiatives with the overall educational goals of Minuteman.
•Lead and coordinate the Wellness Committee, focusing on promoting the overall wellbeing of students and staff.
•Oversee Student Activity accounts and advisors, responsible for approval process of any proposed new clubs/Student Activity accounts.
•Lead the oversight of the Summer School program, ensuring active collaboration with educators to design and implement an engaging and enriching curriculum for participants.
•Initiate, manage, and report on school-wide grants to secure resources aligned with goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
•Manage Student Activity accounts for financial responsibility, provide guidance to student advisors for fostering a positive and inclusive culture in extracurricular activities, and assess the success and impact of student-led initiatives.
•Cultivate open communication with Union staff, addressing concerns, providing updates, and seeking input to enhance the overall work environment, fostering a positive and transparent organizational culture.
Management/Operations:
•Establish and refine protocols for curriculum, records, course changes, and development, prioritizing confidentiality and effective communication.
•Manage materials, supplies, and equipment essential for the daily school routine.
•Evaluate student progress through meticulous maintenance of up-to-date student data.
•Present hires and salary recommendations to the Superintendent for final approval.
•Supervise and appraise the performance of the professional school staff with support from the Executive Team and Leads.
•Orient new staff and students, creating opportunities for their input into the school program.
•Actively leverage community resources and school facilities.
•Facilitate collaborative discussions and decision-making processes to drive positive change within the school community, ensuring diverse perspectives are considered in policy development.
•Interpret the school program for the community, maintaining consistent communication through the School Improvement Process.
