Must Have :
- Strong experience with Linux as a desktop and server OS, including provisioning, securing, and maintenance with an emphasis on CentOS, RHEL 8 , Rocky, and Ubuntu20
- Administering and supporting Windows and MacOS desktop operating systems
- A focus on users with the ability to support developers and researchers with desktop configurations, server installations, applications, and technologies
- Experience with system deployment to bare metal, VMware ESXi / vCenter, and AWS environments using Foreman, kickstart, Ansible, packer, terraform
- Experience configuring and administering Foreman for Linux deployment and maintenance
- Experience with container technologies like Docker or Podman
- Scripting with UNIX shell and Powershell
- Basic hardware deployment and repair experience with desktops, laptops, and servers
- Investigating and deploying new tools and technologies to improve services and support and enable modern practices for research programs
- Working in an Active Directory or LDAP infrastructure and integrating with web applications using SSO
- Implementing compliance following NIST 800-171, CMMC, DISA STIG, or RMF requirements
- Experience administering and using GitLab, or other Continuous Integration services
- Experience working with GitHub, Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook), SAP
- Ability to recommend hardware and software technology solutions, deploy, and maintain them independently as well as with support of the IT team
- Working in a small team, wearing many hats
- Manage and prioritize long-term environment improvement projects concurrently with short term support needs
- Candidates must be enthusiastic, innovative and motivated self-starters able to work independently to complete tasks and meet goals.
- Candidates must also be able to work within a team to achieve project success.
- Candidates must possess strong oral and written communications skills, and must be able to present findings / results to internal and external organizations.
