Production Work-Leader

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Minutemen Staffing is currently hiring a Production Work-Leader for a manufacturing facility in Jeffersonville, IN. We are looking for a motivated, dependable individual with strong communication skills who is ready to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Production Work-Leader will help lead the extrusion production team through a safe, efficient, and productive shift. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can lead by example, solve problems, communicate effectively, and work well with a team.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide daily leadership and accountability for the production team.
• Coordinate day-to-day production activities and assist with problem solving.
• Train new employees and lead by example.
• Work with the Production Foreman on daily capacity planning.
• Ensure production equipment is operating and all required positions are properly staffed.
• Ensure employees follow all PPE requirements and safety procedures.
• Perform and maintain knowledge of production procedures, including:
• Press operation
• Die changes
• Billet oven setup
• Cutback saw setup
• Monitoring extrusion quality
• Dimensional quality checks
• Accurately record production information and downtime.
• Sequence work orders with a focus on efficiency and on-time production.
• Use the company's production system to access die drawings and other job-related information.
• Verify products are manufactured according to specifications and work-order instructions.
• Perform quality checks at required intervals.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts and help identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

Qualifications

• 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate team members.
• Ability to follow production procedures and work instructions.
• Basic experience with production data recording.
• Ability to be cross-trained and learn multiple production roles.
• Ability to lift, pull, and push heavy production tooling with the assistance of overhead crane equipment.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and productivity.
• Dependable with good attendance and a strong work ethic.
